Buy New Zealand business data from Databroker and start to love your marketing. Let the data list experts do our thing and enjoy compliant returns.
New Zealand may be a relatively compact market, but its businesses aren't all alike. A technology firm in Auckland can be a very different prospect from a manufacturer in Canterbury or a professional services business in Wellington.
We can build your New Zealand business email list using criteria such as:
- Industry or business activity
- Region, city or postcode
- Company size
- Employee or turnover band
- Company type
- Job title targeting, where appropriate
- Selected company contact data
This gives you a clearer route into the NZ market for lead generation, sales prospecting and wider business development.
Build a List Around Your Actual Market
A bigger database isn't necessarily a better database. New Zealand is a good example of why. Around 97% of the country's businesses have fewer than 20 employees, so company size can make a major difference to the quality of a campaign.
If your product is designed for businesses with established management teams, multiple sites or larger purchasing budgets, thousands of very small companies could simply create noise. At Databroker, we can combine sector targeting with company size and location-based targeting to create a New Zealand B2B email list that's closer to your ideal customer profile.
Target New Zealand Companies by Location
Where a company is based can tell you a lot about the market it operates in. Auckland is the country's largest commercial centre and has a broad mix of technology, finance, professional services and other corporate activity. Wellington has its own concentration of government-facing organisations, professional services and technology businesses, while Christchurch and the wider Canterbury region have strong links with manufacturing and primary industries.
Depending on your requirements and available data, we can also explore business contacts in New Zealand across Hamilton, Tauranga, Dunedin, Palmerston North, Napier, Hastings and other locations. You can target a particular city or build a wider New Zealand company database covering several regions.
Reach New Zealand Businesses by Sector
Industry-specific data can help remove businesses that were never likely to buy from you in the first place. Rather than purchasing a broad marketing database and sorting it afterwards, we can define the relevant market before the data is supplied.
Available sector targeting may include:
- Technology and software
- Professional services
- Manufacturing and engineering
- Construction
- Agriculture and agribusiness
- Food and beverage
- Financial services
- Healthcare
- Wholesale and distribution
- Retail
- Transport and logistics
- Hospitality and tourism
- Property and real estate
If your target market crosses several industries, we can discuss how those sectors should be grouped without making the selection unnecessarily broad.
Databroker were extremely helpful finding the correct search criteria and quickly responded to all requests. Would definitely recommend and buy from Databroker again as I have already. Thanks for a great service.
What Can Be Included in a New Zealand Email List?
The fields available will depend on your target audience, the data source and what you intend to do with the information.
Company contact data may include:
- Company name
- Business address
- Region or city
- Website
- Telephone number
- Generic business email
- Industry classification
- Employee band
- Turnover band
- Business activity
Named contacts, decision makers, job titles and direct business contact details may also be available where appropriate and permitted. We'll explain what's included in your tailored data list before you purchase it.
New Zealand Has Its Own Electronic Marketing Rules
UK companies targeting New Zealand shouldn't assume that the rules work in exactly the same way as they do at home. Commercial electronic messages sent with a New Zealand link are covered by the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007. New Zealand's Department of Internal Affairs states that commercial electronic messages require consent, accurate sender information and a clear way for recipients to unsubscribe.
This is why we don't think statements such as "buying an email list is legal" tell you enough. Buying business data and deciding whether you can use a particular contact record for a particular email marketing campaign are separate questions. Databroker can explain the data being supplied, but your organisation remains responsible for assessing how its campaign complies with the rules that apply.
Using New Zealand Business Data Responsibly
The Privacy Act 2020 also needs consideration where company contact data identifies an individual. New Zealand's privacy principles generally place limits on using or disclosing personal information for purposes other than those for which it was obtained, unless an applicable exception exists.
There's also a relatively new consideration. Information Privacy Principle 3A came into force in May 2026 and introduces notification requirements in certain situations where personal information is collected indirectly. Terms such as GDPR compliant data or PECR-compliant marketing therefore shouldn't be treated as blanket guarantees for international campaigns. The relevant rules depend on the data, where it's sourced and how you plan to use it.
How We Build Your New Zealand Business Database
1. We Understand Your Campaign
Tell us what you're offering, which NZ businesses are most likely to need it and how you're planning to approach them.
2. We Define the Selection
We narrow the audience using available criteria such as sector, location, company size and business activity. If you need particular decision makers, we'll also discuss the available job title targeting.
3. We Review the Data
We'll provide a count and quotation based on the agreed selection. If the market looks too broad or unnecessarily restrictive, we'll discuss possible adjustments before you buy.
4. We Supply the Data
Your chosen business data is supplied in an agreed digital format, ready for appropriate CRM use, campaign preparation, data cleansing or internal sales research.
Our Practical Approach to Data Accuracy
Business data changes constantly. In August 2026 alone, 5,047 New Zealand companies were incorporated and 10,515 were removed from the Companies Register. There were 751,142 companies on the register at the end of that month. Add people changing jobs, businesses relocating and old email addresses being replaced, and it's clear why a New Zealand email database can't simply be treated as a static product.
Depending on the dataset and campaign, our approach may involve checking the source and age of records, removing duplicates, applying relevant suppression information and carrying out data cleansing. Verified email addresses can help reduce avoidable delivery problems, but good segmentation is just as important. We'd rather help you identify 2,000 relevant prospects than sell you 20,000 contacts your team has to filter afterwards.
Why Choose Databroker?
We don't start with the question, "How many records can we sell you?" We start by looking at who you're actually trying to reach.
For UK companies targeting New Zealand, that could mean narrowing thousands of New Zealand companies by sector, location and company size before looking at available B2B contacts. You'll know what you're buying, why those businesses have been selected and what data fields are included. The aim is to give your team a practical prospecting resource, rather than another spreadsheet to sort through.
